Obituary of Willie Bell
Please share a memory of Willie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mr. Willie Lee Bell, Jr. on November 24, 1940 in Baxley, Georgia when he was born to proud parents, Willie Lee Bell, Sr. and Cora Lee Jones. The oldest of eight children, Willie had four brothers, Robert, William, Melvin and Jeffrey and three sisters, JoAnn, Rosemary and Sherry. On June 2, 1971, Willie was united in marriage with Anna Kiss in Denver, Colorado. To this union was born one daughter, Margaret Ann. She remembers her father as loving, caring, giving, funny, supportive, sacrificer, helpful, hard working, wonderful, family oriented and religious. He was also the loving father of Raymond, Chester and Eva. His grandchildren, Erin, Jessie, Lawrence and Gabrielle, and great grandchildren, Jordan, Jovan, Jonathan, Joshua, Janeva, Daelani, Jayden and Julian called him "Papa". They were all very special to him. A commercial driver by profession, Willie was employed with Laidlaw in the position of bus driver for fourteen years until retirement. He was known for dependability and hard work. In his free time, he enjoyed family and friends, watching movies and listening to music. His favorite was soul music. His best friend, Sam loved him for his great personality and the many good times they shared. This strong and ambitious man was truly "the greatest father anyone could ever have. His love, kindness and generosity will be deeply missed by all who shared a part of Willie's life. To know him was to love him. The sun set on the life of Mr. Willie Lee Bell, Jr. on October 24, 2013 when he passed into eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and one sister, Sherry Jenkins. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Raymond (Ann) Rogers and Chester Rogers, both of Denver, CO; daughters, Eva Williams and Margaret Bell, both of Denver, CO; sisters, Paulette Jackson of AL, Rosemary Howard of Jacksonville, FL and JoAnn Stephenson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
