Obituary of Judith Woods
Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The life of Judith Woods began on April 2, 1953 in Queens, New York. She was the first daughter of Helen Naomi Woods and older sister to Barbara Woods Bonner. Judy was raised in Charleston, South Carolina and attended Immaculate Conception School where she received her first communion and confirmation. As part of a military family, Judy was fortunate to start travel at an early age. She attended middle school and started high school while living on Ramstien Air Force Base in Germany from 1966 to 1969. She was active in basketball and track. She also attended and graduated from Fort Campbell High School in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. After high school Judy attended Dillard University, the Historical Black Liberal Arts College in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1972, she signed up for the United States Army. While serving for our country, Judy trained to be a Dental Technician. Moving to Denver in 1974, she trained at Emily Griffith Opportunity School where she received a certificate in Custodial Services. Judy had a big heart and shared whatever she had and could always bring a smile to the faces of family and friends. She will be missed by those she opened her home up to for a meal or just a good old conversation. She found peace and happiness surrounded by her friends and family. Judy is survived by her sister, Barbara Bonner; nephew, Efren Bonner; niece, Sidra Bonner; uncle, Edward Copeland; aunts, Doris Nambe and May Copeland; cousins, Willene Rose, Amina Khaalis, Willoughby Heyward, Howard Heyward, Ruan Copeland, Maryamm Khaalis, Darren Copeland, Gavin Copeland, Michelle Nambe, Stacey Copeland, Anthony Copeland, Andrea Lewis, Janique Curry, Terri Schneider and numerous other family members and friends.
