Obituary of Rudolph James Domio
Please share a memory of Rudolph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mr. Rudolph James Domio on November 2, 1943 in Denver, Colorado when he was born to proud parents, Paul Domio, Sr. and Eva Loyce Smith. The second of nine children, he had six brothers; Paul, Ray, Greg, Joseph, Harrison and Benny and two sisters; Loyce and Barbara. An active and adventurous child, he was always exploring the neighborhood with friends. He often told of sneaking out to the parks in hopes of seeing Lillian Brown. Educated in the public school system, "Rudy" (as he was affectionately known) graduated from Manual High School in Denver. On August 19, 1977, Rudy was united in marriage with Lillian Brown his sweetheart since Mitchell Elementary. The couple enjoyed raising their children, doing yard work together and taking care of their beautiful roses. To this union was born one precious daughter, Monique. Additionally, Rudy was the loving father of Marcus, Darrick, Stacey, Renae, Nikki, Dawn and Antoinette. In later years, his grandchildren, Ashleigh, Toni, Elijah, Giavanni, Jayde, Devon, Jr., Kayla, Donni, Daeon and Zaahara remember "Grandpa" always enjoyed their company tremendously. Rudy was employed with the Hyatt Regency Hotel for the last ten years of his career in the position of Dock Master. He had previously worked with Briarwood Nursing Home. He often spoke of how he enjoyed working with Carol Calhoun and Mary Berry. In his free time he enjoyed family and friends. His best friends, Maurice Griffie and Sanmiella loved the way he was always "just being Rudy". His favorite color was blue and favorite music was Motown, Blues and Gospel. His sense of humor, enjoyment of life and love for family and friends will be deeply missed by all who shared a part of Rudy's life. To know him was to love him. The sun set on the life of Mr. Rudolph "Rudy" James Domio on April 1, 2014 when he passed into eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his wife and parents. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Marcus (Celestine Simmons) Lane of Bellflower, CA, and Darrick Domio of CA; daughters, Monique Domio of Aurora, CO, Stacey Domio of Atlanta, GA, Renae (Devon) Bunton of Aurora, CO, Nikki Domio of Los Angeles, CA, Dawn Domio of VA and Antoinette Wright of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers, Gregory Jackson, Harrison Jackson, both of Los Angeles, CA, Ray Jackson, Joseph Jackson and Benny (Henrietta) Walton, all of Denver, CO; sisters, Barbara Holland and Loyce (Charles) Wong, both of Denver, CO; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
