Obituary of Ramon Kelly

The sun rose on the life of Mr. Ramon LaRon Kelly (affectionately known as "Smurf ") on February 28, 1982 in New Orleans, Louisiana when he was born to Barry Pouche and Venessa K. Scott. He was lovingly raised by Anthony Scott. The second of three children, Ramon had one brother, Todd and one sister, Raven. A lively child, he loved to talk and to clean. "Ramon was a child who had his own mind. He loved his family so much." Educated in the public school system, Ramon graduated from Gretna High School in Gretna, Louisiana. Ramon was the loving father of one son, Ta'Quan. TaQuan remembered that his father was a loving person who took care of his own sister and brother and loved his family very much. Ramon worked in construction. He was employed with a temp company which allowed him to work at different construction sites and on various projects as a helper and plaser. He was known for hard work. In his free time, he enjoyed family, friends, and just hanging out. His best friends, Todd Walker and Ebony Williams will never forget his dancing and how Ramon could always make them laugh. His favorite expressions were, "Swear to God", "For real", "Gonna play me like that", You heard me", "Hey boo", and "Slug Bug". His favorite color was Blue and he most enjoyed rap and R&B music. "He was a loving person. If you met him, he left you with lots of laughs. To know him you had to love him. He was a small man, but he had the heart of a lion; never would back down from nothing or no one. He was a man that would give you his last if you needed it." His smile, his laughter, his constant reminder, "I love you" will be deeply missed by all who loved him. The sun set on the life of Mr. Ramon "Smurf " LaRon Kelly on May 24, 2014 when he passed into eternal rest. Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Venessa and Anthony Scott of Marrerro, LA; son, Ta'Quan Kelly of Houston, TX; brothers, Todd (Shanelle) Walker of New Orleans, LA and Anthony (Keva) Scott, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Raven (Trarune) Kelly of New Orleans, LA, Antoinette Scott of Atlanta, GA, Janika Scott of Los Angeles, CA, Damonique Sampson and Mykeshia Sampson, both of New Orleans, LA; close friend, Ebony Williams and a host of aunts uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
