Obituary of Norman Springs

Please share a memory of Norman to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mr. Norman William Springs on December 24, 1935 in Denver, Colorado when he was born to James and Phyllis Gentry. The second of five children, Norman had one brother, Richard and two sisters, Jacqueline and Verna Marie. As a child, he was always playing the drums. He was a member of the Drums Corps with the Elks Lodge. "He love playing the drums and marching in all the Black Parades. Full of mischief, he and his friends would put wires on the ends of a battery and give everyone a "lie detector test". Everyone who touched it got burned!" Norman proudly served his country and community in the National Guard. He was the father of three beautiful children, Bryce, Brittany and Sharon. A cook by profession, he worked at many different restaurants throughout the city. He was a quiet man who kept to himself, but always enjoyed the company of others when they were around. In his free time he enjoyed gambling. His best friend was Anna DeNoyer. Norman enjoyed R&B and Blues music. The sun set on the life of Mr. Norman William Springs on July 11, 2014 when he passed into eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jacqueline. Those left to cherish his memory include his children of Denver, CO; brother, Richard (Kathleen) Winn of Denver, CO; sister, Verna M. Hallman, also of Denver, CO; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Rest in peace...Norman
