Obituary of Loren Edward Bell

The sun rose on the life of Mr. Loren Edward Bell on May 4, 1947 in St. Joseph, Missouri when he was born to Louis and Beulah Bell. The youngest of three children, he had two sisters, Diantha and Mabel. As a child, he was always playing music. "Loren loved the bands. In fact, he played with the high school varsity band when he was only a freshman." He also learned to drive heavy equipment at the tender age of thirteen. Educated in the public school system, he graduated from Manuel High School in Kansas City, MO. He continued his education at trade school where he became a master welder. A Vietnam Veteran, Loren proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was stationed in Vietman and St. Croix, Virgin Islands. His final rank was E-3/PFC. Having completed his active duty with honor and distinction, Loren was given an honorable discharge by the government and a grateful nation. Loren was united in marriage with Nevel Markies. To this union was born one beautiful daughter, Karen. He was a loving husband and devoted father. A welder by profession, he was employed with the City of San Francisco. He had previously orked at A.O. Steel. He was known for hard work, dependability and excellence in his trade. In his free time, Loren enjoyed family, friends, shooting pool and talking to his friends. "He used to live tall." His best friends, Billy and Robert remember his love of playing and his enjoyment of life. His favorite color was red and he liked the music of Miles Davis, Madys Turner and John Coltrane. His joy in life and love for everyone will be deeply missed by all who shared a part of Loren's life. To know him was to love him. The sun set on the life of Mr. Loren Edward Bell on September 2, 2014 when he passed into eternal rest. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Karen; sister, Mavel King of Topeka, KS. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
