Obituary of Sidney Jo Allison
Please share a memory of Sidney to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mrs. Sidney Jo Allison on December 5, 1952 in Revere, Missouri when she was born the first child of Bessie Wickell. Educated in the public school system, she graduated from Otterville High School in Otterville, MO, Class of '71. On March 3, 1972, Sidney was united in marriage with the love of her life, Alan Allison at Riverside Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado. He remembers, "In 1978, we went to Las Vegas for the first time and even though we had been married for six years, it was like our honeymoon. We stayed in the honeymoon suite at Circus Circus. We drove the 1976 Monte Carlo out there." To this union were born four precious children, David, Doug, Angie and Danny. They remember, "Our mom was one of a kind. She made sure everyone else was taken care of. She always had baked goodies for us while we did our homework. Family traditions on holidays were a big deal. She loved Christmas and spent the entire month baking and getting ready for Christmas dinner. She was a selfless person who put needs of family and friends first." Her grandchildren, Cylai and Allison loved to spend time with "Grammy" and bake cookies with her. Sidney was employed with American Family Insurance. In her free time, she enjoyed family, friends, reading, doing puzzles, sewing, crocheting, gardening and making photo books. Her best friends, Donna and Kathy loved her for being a "fireball" and will always remember their after school trips to the cafe where they shared a plate of fries and listened to the jukebox. She liked country music, roses and the Kansas City Chiefs. "You always knew when the Chiefs were on TV because Sidney would be yelling at the TV." This selfless, amazing, hard working, strong and loving woman was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. "Everyone who knew her was blessed to have had her in their life." The sun set on the life of Mrs. Sidney Jo Allison on October 16, 2014 when she passed into eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her mother. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Alan Allison of Denver, CO; sons, Douglas Allison of Denver, CO, David (Tracey) Allison of Henderson, CO and Daniel Allison of Denver, CO; daughter, Angela Allison of Union Town, PA; two grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Rest in peace...Sidney
