Obituary of Latonda Morgan

Please share a memory of Latonda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Ms. Latonda Morgan on August 14, 1970 in Wichita, Kansas when she was born the only child of Johnnie Walker and Patricia Morgan. She was lovingly raised by her grandparents, Josie (known as Mama) and John Yates. As she was the first grandchild for many years, Latonda was spoiled rotten. Educated in the public school system, she was a serious student and received various awards with the Wichita School System. She graduated from North High School in Wichita. Shortly after graduation, Latonda moved to Denver, Colorado where she met and fell in love with Jeffery Pina. They were united in marriage on April 12, 1996 at the Shorter AME Church. To this union were born two children, Asha and Isaiah. Additionally, she was the loving mother of Jasmine whom Jeffery treated as his own. All of the children were known by the name "Pina". Latonda was devoted to her children. She always dressed them to the max and loved doing things with them. The marriage was later dissolved. Her grandchildren, King, Romeo, Kardrian and A'Neigha were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They called her "Nanee" and "Beautiful". "She loved them and would get onto her daughters quickly about them." Her passion was her family and she enjoyed birthdays, holidays and all types of events. A woman of faith, Latonda and her entire family were baptized and were members of Shorter AME Church. They later moved their membership to Heritage Christian Center under the leadership of Bishop Dennis Leonard where she was a member of the choir. Latonda's career was primarily as an Administrator. Her last position was as a Funeral Director. She had previously been in the position of Administrative Assistant for Taylor Mortuary. Additionally she had her own independent business assisting people in their bankruptcy proceedings. Latonda started her professional career as a Flight Attendant for Frontier Airlines. She also modeled for Charles African Boutique and Hair Salon. She loved fashion and shopping! Her best friends were Linda, Theresa and Julia "Boo". Everyone enjoyed Latonda's laughter, sense of humor and being the "life of the party". There was nothing she enjoyed more than planning and throwing parties for the people in her life. "She was a virtuous woman who touched a lot of lives. Her body will be missed but her soul will rest in our souls forever." Her favorite saying was, "It is what it is, and God don't like ugly and he ain't too fond of pretty." To know Latonda was to love her and she will be deeply missed. The sun set on the life of Ms. Latonda Morgan on December 7, 2014 when the Lord called her home to eternal rest after a short illness. She is preceded in death by her grandparents. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Jasmine Simone of Aurora, CO, Asha Pina of Phoenix, AZ and Isaiah Pina of Aurora, CO; father, Johnnie Walker of Aurora, CO; mother, Patricia Morgan of Wichita, KS; brother, Orlando Trotter of Wichita, KS; four grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. \ Rest in peace...Latonda
