Obituary of Gerald Howard Hammons
Please share a memory of Gerald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mr. Gerald Howard Hammons on June 7, 1978 in Denver, Colorado when he was born to Gerald H. Goudeau and Patsy R. Hammons. The youngest of two children, he had one sister, LaToya. A friendly child, he was always outgoing and respectful. "He was always taking things apart and fixing things. Gerald was very flirtatious with his teachers and had them wrapped around his finger." Educated in the public school system, Gerald graduated from Aurora Central High School in Aurora, CO. On September 13, Gerald was united in marriage with his high school sweetheart, Jennifer Mitchell. They always spent alot of time together as a family. To this union were born two children, LaTavia and Zariaha. Additionally, he was the father of Dashone and Shantrel. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. In later years, his granddaughter, Ly'Niyah Lynnease was an additional source of joy and pride in his life. A man of faith, Gerald was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed as a truck driver, delivery driver and bartender. He worked the longest for American Furniture Warehouse where he was known for hard work and knowing how to pack a truck well. In his free time, he enjoyed family, friends, barbequing and going out to eat. Gerald had many friends, but his best friend was his cousin, Courtney. He will best be remembered by his friends for his heart, being always willing to help and for taking care of his children. "Gerald was family oriented, loved his children, had a kind and gentle spirit and always helping." His loving smile, his hugs, his constantly telling his family and friends that he loved them will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to share a part of this wonderful man's life. To know Gerald was to love him. The sun set on the life of Mr. Gerald Howard Hammons on September 11, 2016 when the Lord called him home to eternal rest.
