The sun rose on the life of Mr. Rodney Darren Scott on March 2, 1960 in Denver, Colorado when he was born to Donald H. Scott and Senoria (Johnson) Scott. The youngest of three children, Rodney had one brother, Mark and one sister, Sharon. Rodney really enjoyed being the "baby" of the family. A gifted artist, he spent much of his time drawing. Rodney received his formal education in the Denver public school system. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver, Class of 1978. As a man of faith, he had a strong belief in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Rodney loved attending the Anchor of Hope Church. Throughout his life, Rodney worked in customer service. In the last decade of his life, he was the front desk person, the point of contact for the Colorado Division of Real Estate. His position was Administrative Assistant III. He had previously worked at Met Life where he was known as "Cool Papa" and was known for telling jokes. In his free time, the "Duke of the Draw" was a talented artist whose area of expertise was portraits of people, particularly family members and historical people. He enjoyed family, friends, drawing, reading, Bible study, listening to music and watching the latest movies. He was known for supporting the Broncos and Nuggets, enthusiastically. Rodney was outgoing and full of laughter. He had the gift of gab and was able to engage anyone in a conversation or debate. To know Rodney was to love him and he will be deeply missed. The sun set on the life of Mr. Rodney Darren Scott on September 21, 2016 when the Lord called him home to eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Rodney, Jr. and daughter, Jasmine, a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends. Rest in peace...Rodney
