The sun rose on the life of Mr. Joe "Bobby" Larkin on January 13, 1949 in Siston, Missouri when he was born to Guy Larkin, Sr, and Alberta Martin Larkin. One of seven children, Bobby (as he was affectionately known) had two brothers, Guy Jr. and John and four sisters, Betty, Emma, Ida and Sally. As a child, he always liked animals, especially dogs with bulldogs being his favorite. He also liked fast cars and his favorite food was chicken and dumplings. He learned to loved R & B music at an early age and carried that love for it all his life. Educated in the public school system, Bobby graduated from Elkhart High School. Bobby was united in marriage with Ernestine Vannorman. To this union were born two children, Corey and Titus. A hard worker, Bobby was employed for over ten years with Labor Ready Temp Service. He took pride in being a hard worker and enjoyed the variety of being a day laborer. He was given an "Employee of the Month" Award for outstanding job performance. In his free time, Bobby enjoyed family, friends, watching sports and watching old western movies. His best friend, Ron always enjoyed sharing the laughter and joking that Bobby enjoyed. His favorite color was black and he liked roses. His favorite recording artist was Luther Vandross and his favorite song was "Dance With My Father, Again". Bobby was "fun to be around". He kept everyone laughing and joking. He loved everybody; a very loving person. His love, laughter and joy in life will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have shared a part of this delightful man's life. To know Bobby was to love him.
