Obituary of Linda Carol Howard

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mrs. Linda Carol "Tooky" Howard on March 11, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri to Mattie Williams. The third of five children, Linda had two brothers, Ernest and Charles "Lil Bro" and two sisters, Willa Mae and Barbara "Bobbie". A sweet child, she always got along with everyone. She was very close to her family, knew what she wanted and went after it. "Linda loved dressing up and wearing her sister's clothes." Educated in the public school system, she graduated from Vashon High School in St. Louis. On December 1, 1978, Linda was united in marriage with the love of her life, Earl Howard at the City Hall in St. Louis. The couple were always deeply in love. "She was his everything." To this union were born three beautiful children, Rashekii, Kareem and Darryl. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. In later years, her grandchildren, Aric, Andre, Layshaianae, Kareem, Jr., Josiah, Na'Kyra, A'Niya and A'Laya were a special joy to Linda. They remember "Grandma" as loving, supportive, cooking holiday meals, playing board and card games, shopping and just talking with them. They loved her dearly. A woman of faith, Linda was a member of True Light Baptist Church where she served on the Praise Dance Ministry, Awana Club, Secretary and Planner, Choir and Prayer team. For twenty-seven years, Linda was employed with Gates Rubber Company in the position of a Systems Analyst. She was known for dedication and had a multitude of friends at work. In her free time, Linda enjoyed family, friends, going to plays, Friday night fish fries and going to church. She loved helping others and belonged to an investment club. Her best friends, Marcia Taylor and Summer Foxworth loved her for being a prayer warrior, praising the Lord through song and dance. "Nothing pleased her more than being in the presence of the Lord." Linda's love, caring, bright spirit, kindness, Christian example and life will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to be a part of this beautiful lady's life. To know her was to love her. The sun set on the life of Mrs. Linda Carol "Tooky" Howard on April 6, 2017 when the Lord called her home to eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Charles "Lil Bro" Thomas and sister, Barbara "Bobbie" Greer. Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Earl H. Howard of Aurora, CO; sons, Darryl L. Williams and Kareem D. Howard, both of Aurora, CO; daughter, Rashekii G.
