Obituary of Shari Abdul Shabazz

Please share a memory of Shari to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mr. Shari Abdul Shabazz on July 16, 1972 in Denver, Colorado when he was born to Abel and Esther L. Shaw. With a family of seven children, he had two brothers, Erike and Timothy and four sisters, Zina, Nikki, Chandra and Tisha. A happy child, Shari loved teasing his sisters and was adventurous, a real dare devil. He once rode his tricycle off the stairs, copying Evel Knievel's jump over the Grand Canyon. He busted his head but wanted to know if he made it! Educated in the public school system, Shari graduated from George Washington High School. He continued his education at Westward College where he earned a degree for Aviation Maintenance Technician. Shari proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1990 to 2000. A Desert Storm veteran, he was stationed in Germany, Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and Ft. Carson, Colorado. Having completed his active duty, he was given an Honorable Discharge from the Army and a grateful nation. Shari was first united in marriage with Yvette Everette on Aurgust 31, 1995. She remembers lots of laughter. To this union were born two children, Kamanni and Candice. On July 26, 1999, Shari was united in marriage with Christie Yuvonne Butler in Colorado Springs at the El Paso County Courthouse. The couple enjoyed taking long walks together. To this union was born one child, Khalil. The children remember him performing rap music and changing the lyrics to pertain to his kids. An aircraft mechanic by profession, Shari was employed with Skywest at DIA in Denver. He was known for being a very nice person to work with who got along with everybody. In his free time, he enjoyed family, friends, reading and going to the movies. His best friend was Bobby Robinson, Jr. All of his friends loved his bigger than life personality, ability to make you smile and dedication to kids and family. "He always ended his phone calls with either, "I'm gone" or "Peeeace" after saying "I love you." His love, caring and passion to live life to the fullest will be deeply missed by all who knew this remarkable young man. To know Shari was to love him. The sun set on the life of Mr. Shari Abdul Shabazz on April 6, 2017 when he passed into eternal rest. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Khalil Shabazz of Homewood, AL; daughters, Candice Shabazz of Middleton, OH and Kamanni Shabazz of Topeka, KS; father, Abel Shaw of Las Vegas, NV; mother, Esther Shaw of Denver, CO; brothers, Timothy (Jessie) Shaw of Las Vegas, NV and Erike (Andrea) Shaw of Denver, CO; sisters, Lateisha Shaw, Chandra Dudley, both of Denver, CO, Zina (Robert) Johnson of New York, NY and Nicole "Nikki" (Leroy) Hey-liger of Aurora, CO; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
