Obituary of Eriq Lindsey Burrell

The sun rose on the life of Mr. Eriq Lindsey Burrell on January 10, 1983 in Anniston, Alabama when he was born to Bobby and Carol Porter Burrell. The youngest of two children, Eriq had one sister, Dione. He also had two half brothers, Bobby and Darius. An active and mischievous child, Eriq seemed to always be in trouble for something! Educated in the public school system, Eriq attended and graduated from Oxford High School in Alabama. Eriq was engaged to be married to Keisha Johnson whom he met through a mutual friend. Eriq was the loving father of three sons, Mekhi, Micah and Kameron. The boys have fond memories of coming to Colorado in the summer and going to the amusement park and the water park with their daddy. "He always let us wear his hats." A rug binder by profession, Eriq was employed with Aurora Rug Binding. His co-workers remember, "You were the life of our work party. You kept the laughter and fun going. Your heart was so big and you'll be greatly missed." In his free time, Eriq enjoyed family, friends, watching football, the beach, eating and traveling. He will always be remembered by his friends for his grin and larger than life smile. His favorite music was rap and R&B. His favorite recording artist was Kevin Gates. Eriq's love, joy in life, contagious smile and laughter will be deeply missed by all who shared a part of his life. To know Eriq was to love him. The sun set on the life of Mr. Eriq Lindsey Burrell on April 29, 2017 when he passed into eternal rest. Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Bobby Burrell of Aurora, CO and Carol Burrell of Anniston, AL; sons, Mekhi and Micah Carter and Kameron Williams, all of AL; brothers, Bobby Hudson of Raleigh, NC and Darius Burrell of Aurora, CO; sisters, Dione (Orlando) Portor-Bandy of Birmingham, AL and Cassandra Ernst of Morocco, Africa; fiance, Keisha Johnson of Denver, CO; and a host of aunts uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
