Obituary of Janice M. Barnes

Janice Marie Barnes 27 July 1950- 15 Sept 2020 Janice Marie Dawson-Barnes 70, Denver Colorado went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept 15, 2020, at the home.   Janice was born in Saint Louis, MO, on July 27, 1950 to William Dawson and Betty Smith-Coker. Janice loved the Lord; she loved her family and she loved people.  She devoted her life to serving others and substituted taught a number of years in public schools in Denver, CO. She was a faithful servant of the Lord, Janice was preceded in death by her father, William Dawson; mother, Betty Smith Coker; husband; Frederick Barnes, two brothers, Oliver Dawson and George Dawson, and sister, Betty Dawson. She is survived by her three children, Lois Reece and daughter-in-law Patricia Reece of Hiram, GA; Lawrence Reece and Daughter-in-law Tomecia Reece of Junction City KS, and Sean Perry and Daughter-in-law Joy Perry Of Aurora, CO; five brothers, Victor Dawson; sister-in-law Carolyn Dawson of Fort Mitchell, AL; William Dawson Jr. sister-in-law, Lucille Dawson of of Fresno, CA; Robert Dawson of Jackson TN; Douglas Dawson of Saint Louis, MO; and Bertrum Coker of Springfield, MO; two sisters; Marilyn Coker of Springfield MO; and Jennifer Dawson of East Saint Louis Il; seven grandchildren Auhjannay Pittman, Ebone Reece, Imani Reece all of Junction City KS; Dasean Perry, Shi’eana Perry, Majayla Perry, Zakharii Perry all of Denver CO; four great grandchildren, Jordan Smith Jr, Lauren-Olivia Cotner Josiah Zigler, Khyson Ross, numerous nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews and friends.  A Celebration of Life service will be scheduled at a later date.   Interment of remains will take place in the Fort Logan National Cemetery.  The family insists that people make donations in support of breast cancer research, in lieu of sending flowers.
