Obituary of Jerome Bradley Cook
Please share a memory of Jerome to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jerome Bradley Cook was born on November 25, 1986 in Denver, Colorado, to his parents, Johnnie B. Cook and LaVonna J. Heath. Jerome was the only child born of this union. Growing up, he loved the many family vacations, outings, and dinners that he attended with his family. He was especially fond of celebrating special occasions like birthdays and Christmas. Jerome also cherished his beloved German Shepard, “Cleo.” Jerome attended Colorado State Academy in Arvada, Colorado and graduated in 2005. He continued his education at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. Jerome’s curious nature and natural intellect took him to a multitude of different subject areas within his post-secondary education. His creativity allowed him to excel in music production, writing, drawing, and design. Jerome continued to pursue his true passion which was music.
As a profession, Jerome loved working in the transportation industry. He received his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in October of 2019 and planned a career as a Professional CDL Operator.
Jerome was an amazing single father to his daughter, Mariah, who was the light of his life and true purpose. They would drive miles to various parts of Colorado just to sight-see and visit monuments. Jerome and Mariah enjoyed dancing, learning, and playing together, sharing a love of science, books, and movies. His magnetic personality can already be seen in his daughter.
Jerome was a member at Providence Bible Church in Denver Colorado. On August 11, 2019, he was baptized at Confluence Park in Denver, by Pastor Jason Janz. Jerome was a true individualistic man who was always himself no matter what. He encouraged others to be themselves and comforted those around him with his warm spirit. He loved listening to and curating hip-hop music. Jerome was a staunch movie and television show aficionado, an avid reader, and a lifelong Bronco fan. He especially loved gatherings with his family and friends. Everyone will remember Jerome’s infectious smile and charismatic laugh that lit up any room he was in. His presence was always the life of the party. His closest friends included his cousin, Mikhail Talley and friend, Taja Rhea-Burks. They will always remember how his charisma was so easily shown through in his music which allowed him to be a natural, poignant, and powerful speaker. He had a natural charm and a radiating spirit. Jerome was extremely kind and forgiving. He had a giving heart continuing into death. He was a tissue donor, and his gifts will allow seven individuals to have improved lives.
Jerome went home to glory on December 4, 2020 at University Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. He is preceded in death by grandmother, Lucille Talley, and father, Johnnie B. Cook.
