Obituary of Johnny Dean Flores

Johnny Dean Flores, Sr., 76, a native of Clayton, New Mexico and longtime resident of Denver, Colorado passed away Wednesday morning, February 3, 2021.  Johnny was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served for four years.  After leaving the Navy, Johnny worked for six years for a flooring company in Denver, but eventually left that role to work as a Dockman for Yellow Freight Systems where he worked for 30+ years. In October 2000, Johnny retired from Yellow Freight to spend more time with his wife and to continue working alongside of her as a Marketing Specialist for Sales Builders Marketing. Together they promoted products at various events around Colorado and local supermarkets. Johnny’s smile and personality had a way of drawing people to him making him perfectly suited for his role. Returning customers knew him by name and would seek him out to see what new product he had that day. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Eufracia and Lewis Flores, and all three of his siblings.  He leaves behind to cherish his memories his beloved wife of 30 years, Ruthie Flores of Denver; his daughter, Tina Hood (Earl) of Ft. Lupton; his son, Johnny Flores, Jr., (Kelsey) of Golden; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Hood of Ft. Lupton, Hope Flores of San Antonio, TX, and Mykayla Flores of Arvada; and his brother-in-law, Henry Benbow (Ina) of South Carolina.  Johnny’s life story began and ended with love. He filled the life of those he met and made a difference in the lives that he was closest to. He will be remembered best for his unselfish nature, his compassion, his humor, and the loyal and faithful love he gave to his family and his friends he treated like family.
