Mrs. Dorothy V. Barnett Lewis, born September 16, 1928, transitioned home to be with the Lord on April 15, 2021. Mrs. Lewis is a native of Montgomery, Alabama, born to John and Carrie Barnett. All of Mrs. Lewis siblings included Charlie Lee, Johnnie Mae, Charles and Elizabeth Barnett. Mrs. Lewis moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1945 with her loving father and married Nathan Lewis July 1, 1967 in Brooklyn New York at Cornerstone Baptist Church. Her parents, husband and siblings have preceded her in death. Mrs. Lewis graduated from Girls Commercial High School. Furthered her education at Washington Manhattan Business School, Brown Business School, Brooklyn College and New York City College. Mrs. Dorothy Lewis was employment included the United States Coast Guard for 10 years; Cornerstone Daycare 10 years; finally the Cornerstone Sandy F. Ray Senior Housing as Property Manager 1982-2018. She was a dedicated servant of the Lord under Cornerstone for more than 35 years. Her favorite saying is “Surely God is Good”. She truly had a heart for God’s people and the things of God. Her dedication to the care of Seniors and the Services they needed was above professional. Everyone and anyone who came in contact with this loving gift from God was blessed. Psalms 103:1 "Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name." Expressions of Gratitude... Words are not enough to express our thanks and appreciation for all the love and support we have received and continue to receive from our families, friends, Pastors, various businesses and of the care professionals during this challenging time in our lives. We sincerely pray the blessings of God be upon you all.
