Obituary of Haleem Mahdee Taymullah
Please share a memory of Haleem to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Haleem Mahdee Taymullah on September 27, 1957, in Dayton, Ohio when he was born to Lee Swain and Audrey Brown. Haleem was raised by his mother and his late stepfather Norman Spells. Haleem had one sister, Arletta. As a child, he was always very active and playing sports. A memory from his childhood was when he ran his go-kart into a police car.
Educated in the public school system, Haleem graduated from Ft. Campbell High School in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky class of ’75. Later he enlisted in the United States Army where he served from 1977 until 1980 in Germany. His final rank before being given an honorable discharge was an E4.
Haleem met Beverly Coleman at a party and on October 2, 1982, they were united in marriage in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During the marriage they were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Shauna. The marriage was later dissolved. Haleem then met Pamela Jackson and to this union another daughter was born, Maya. His children remember how they loved their father dearly and always knew he loved them just as much. Haleem later met Imani Syeed whom he married, and they remained together until her passing in 2010. He was later blessed with two grandchildren, Jordyn, and Janelle whom he loved dearly.
Haleem was a member of the Muslim faith for many years.
By profession, he was a Truck Driver who did over the road driving.
In his free time, Haleem enjoyed reading his Quran and watching the Philadelphia Eagles play.
His favorite color was brown. Everybody enjoyed being around him. He had a very infectious laugh, along with a friendly and warm personality. He was born Jonathan Lee Swain, but eventually converted to the Islamic faith where he changed his name on May 5, 1994.
This laughing, dancing, and always smiling man will be deeply missed. To know Haleem, was to love him.
