Obituary of Marvin Errol Hakeem, Sr.

Marvin Errol Hakeem, Sr. was born February 21, 1948, in Meridian, OK to Emmitt Harris and Edwina Reid and was the oldest of four boys. His family later moved to Guthrie where he grew up. He accepted Christ as His Lord and Savior at an early age at while attending Mt. Olive Friendship Baptist Church. Marvin attended Page Elementary/Middle School and graduated from Faver High School in 1967. After graduation, he was drafted in the Army and served in the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969. Once he returned from Vietnam, he moved back to OK and attended Langston University while working with his stepdad Stack doing construction work. In 1980, Marvin moved to Denver, CO. He worked in construction operating heavy equipment and later worked for Safeway as a truck driver delivering throughout the state. In 1984 Marvin met Jeannie, the love of his life. They were married on May 10, 1986, where to that union came his youngest son, Dominique Antione Hakeem. He was a member of the Prince Hall Masonic body and received his 33° in 1994 and was part of the Imperial Grand Council. Marvin’s passion was riding motorcycles. He was one of the Founders of the Swords of Justice Motorcycle Club (MC) which started in 1984. His club name was Blyneman. Marvin was named club President in 1994 and later became National President. The MC club traveled through many states, from one coast to the other, attending several different MC events. Blyneman was well known and loved dearly in the MC world. Marvin always kept his motorcycles, trucks and cars clean. He was a jack of all trades and could always be found working and fixing on something in his man cave where he had tools and machines to fix on anything. Marvin was called to his eternal home Monday, November 21, 2022. He was proceeded in death by his mother, grandmother and two brothers, Phil and Glen. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife Jeannie; his seven children as he loved them all dearly; three daughters, Tamara Harris, Patrice Harris, Tera Harris-Piper (Jason); four sons, Deon Smith, Dean Hakeem, Marvin Hakeem Jr., and Dominique Hakeem; one brother Bruce Winn-Reid (Sarah); fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
