Alex Harper, Jr., beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the age of 94. He was born on February 19, 1919 to Alex Harper, Sr. and Marzella (Moore) Harper in San Antonio, TX. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Althea Ann Harper. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Peyton, Emma Bennifield, Beverly Nevins and Darlene Clemons. Also left to cherish his memory are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alex's first love was his family and providing for them. He was best known to the San Antonio community for his craft. For over 60 years, he produced... custom gunstocks for countless hundreds of instant friends from far and wide. He did work for people from all walks of life that wanted to make a rifle or shotgun something special. His work will live on, very easily recognized as a Harper Custom Stock. If you own one of the thousands that he crafted, you not only have a very special part of Alex Harper that will be handed down to generations, chances are you found a friend in the craftsman
