Granddaddy, I'm sorry you have to go alone But God knows what's right and he is never wrong He needed you more that's why he called you home I'm sure you are smiling and dancing around God's throne. I remember when I came to Denver to visit you. I had the greatest time. I can still hear you laughing when I told you your dog Boo was ugly and you asked me why would I say that because Boo was your baby and I said "Granddaddy, well, your baby sure is ugly." We laughed together so hard that night because you were in disbelief that I had come all the way from Mississippi to talk about your little dog Boo. I remember driving you around the whole weekend. I was so excited being that I was only in the 10th grade driving this huge truck in a city I was not familiar with. But you just sat back and relaxed and told all your friends "this is my grandbaby and she is driving me around today." We even drove to the mountains so you could meet with your hunting friends. When we were leaving I got your truck stuck in some rocks coming down a huge hill and you remained calm and said "its ok just put the gear in drive 2 and press down on the gas and get us out of here". I followed your directions and we road the rest of the evening until you were ready to head home. Before I left you took me in the garage and showed me your race car. You had been working on it and were very proud to tell me about the races you had won in it. I remember smiling and thinking to myself my granddad thinks he cool and you were. I even remember when you came to visit me years later and you were so proud of my accomplishments. You said you couldn't believe I was so grown up and had my own place. It meant everything to me to know that I had made you a proud granddad. I'm glad we had time to share those moments while you were here. Though this is a sad occasion I know that to be absent from the body means to be present with the Lord. You rest on granddaddy because all your troubles and pains and hurts are over. I will always love you but God loves you more. Your Granddaughter Brandy
