Bonnie Dyer, daughter of James and Ola Reddick Bell went home to be with our Lord and Savior on April 13, 2015. Bonnie was born in Rosebud, Texas; however, she was raised and graduated from high school in Seattle, Washington. She moved to Denver, Colorado in 1946 and on December 23, 1955, Bonnie married Charles W. Dyer. They were married by the Reverend G. D. Hancock of Scott United Methodist Church and they renewed their vows for their 25th wedding anniversary and had a beautiful Golden 50th wedding anniversary. This year, Bonnie and Chuck would have celebrated their 60th anniversary. Although there were no children born to this union, they had family members that they enjoyed spending time with in several states including Colorado, Georgia, California, Nevada, Oklahoma, and Texas just to name a few. Professionally, Bonnie was a retired beautician who in 1951 completed her professional training at the Duncan Beauty Academy for Cosmetology in Denver, CO. She was the owner of La Femme of Denver Beauty Salon on 29th and Colorado Boulevard for a number of years and also did hair in Liggins Towers. Bonnie was a member of the Kappa Omega Chi Chapter of Alpha Chi P1 Omega Beauticians Sorority. Bonnie was a stylish woman and often participated in hair and fashion shows around Denver. She also modeled in several of the late Verna Jackson's hat shows that benefitted the John H. Jackson, Jr. Scholarships at the Illiff School of Theology. Bonnie simply had a knack for fashion and hair. Bonnie was a longtime member of Scott United Methodist Church. Before her health declined, she had been a member of the Young at Heart Club, the Sophisticate Social and Civic Club, the Denver Silhouettes (Kappa wives). Bonnie was one of the founders and organizers of the Les Bons Amis Club in 1969. Preceding her in death were her parents, James and Ola Bell, two brothers, Leroy Bell and Harvey Bell, Sr.; four sisters, Eva Holston, Vera Bell, Leola Wynn and Annie Mae Compton; and one god-daughter, Dawn Williams-Ross. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Chuck; god-daughter, Linda Sue (Larry) Williams; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She will be missed by all.
