Obituary of Anesha Majeed

The sun rose on the life of Ms. Anesha S. Majeed (aka Annie Mae Thomas) on November 16, 1947 in Lubbock, Texas when she was born to Leroy and Geraldine Thomas. The second child of five, Anesha had one brother, Leroy and three sisters, Belinda, Connie and Michelle. A happy child, Anesha was always joyful and smiling. A childhood memory was of Anesha, Clara and Bonnie dressing alike every Friday and calling themselves "The Angels". Educated in the public school system, Anesha graduated from Dunbar High School in Lubbock. An excellent and active student, Anesha majored in business and was a cheerleader. In 1970, Anesha was united in marriage with Kent Banks in Denver, Colorado. To this union one child was born, Brian Dewayne. The marriage was later dissolved. She was later united with Morrell Bell in Texas. To this union was born one child, Victor Lowan. He remembers many happy times with his mother and traveling on the road. There was always alot of fun, games and laughter. In later years, Anesha's grandchildren, Morrell, Jheryl, Victoria and Jazmyn were a special source of joy and pride in her life. Victoria remembers living
with her "Nana" in Texas and having lots of good times. Jazmyn remembers good cooking and playing Connect Four with her.Anesha was a faithful member of the Seven Hundred Club. A true entrepreneur,Anesha made her own clothing and authored and published her own newspaper, "East Colfax Story". She was also employed by the City and County of Denver in the Licensing Department. "She was very creative and insightful. Her newspaper articles were great." In her free time, Anesha enjoyed family, friends, making clothing, writing and sellingAfrican imports. Her best friends, Aunt Harriet, Helen Anderson and Kay loved her attitude and beautiful smile. "Anesha was a very positive and strong woman.She had very strong ties to her family, friends and the community. She was the best single parent in the whole world. She was an awesome grandmother and was loved and respected so much. Where would we be without her and we will miss her so much." Her strength, independence, love and ability to inspire others like a breath of fresh air will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have been a part of this beautiful woman's life. To know Anesha was truly to love her. The sun set on the life of Ms. Anesha S. Majeed (aka Annie Mae Thomas) on September 3, 2015 when the Lord called her home to eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Belinda best friends, Aunt Harriet and Kay. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Victor Thomas and Brian Thomas, both of Aurora, CO; brother, Leroy Thomas of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Connie (Charles) Brooks of Colorado Springs, CO and Michelle Thomas of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
